It’s showtime! Spring not only brings on exquisite weather but a grand parade of homes and gardens. During this vibrant time of the year, you have an opportunity to get out and explore some of the most beautiful luxury and historic homes and well-manicured gardens in the metroplex.
Start your tour this weekend at the Southlake Garden Tour (http://southlakegardentour.org/) You will wind your way through 6 unique and intriguing gardens. There will also be Master Gardeners at each location to answer any questions you may have about the foliage as well as information about water management, the best plants for your zone, and creating the perfect potted plant.
From there, you can make your way to the newly renovated Fort Worth Botanic gardens. This time of year is ideal to visit the gardens. The trees are freshly green and blooms abound as you meander through 110 acres of lush botanics. This weekend as well are the cactus, succulent, and orchid plant sales. Although orchids are the hardest to grow, their blooms are worth the time and effort. Cactus and succulents are the trendiest plants right now. Check out The Greenhouse 817 for on point concepts and designs for these low maintenance plants.
Next weekend, journey out to the Fairmount district for the Tour of Homes (http://historicfairmount.com/index.php/home-tour/). Strategically scheduled on Mother’s Day (great gift *hint *hint), you can get your Mom a commemorative tee as you tour the Craftsman bungalows and Victorian homes of Fort Worth’s past. Each of these homes have been lovingly restored and maintained to reflect their natural beauty.
No matter if you visit all or one, it is always a good idea to step outside and explore our beautiful city and as always…
Dream big. Choose local.
